talkSPORT presenter Jim White has offered an update on Alexis Sanchez and believes the Chilean international will not try and force his way out of Arsenal before the end of the month.

Sanchez is no closer to putting pen to paper on a new contract at the Emirates so speculation is continuing to mount that he could yet leave the club this summer.

The likes of Paris Saint-Germain have been heavily linked in recent weeks while reports in the Telegraph also suggest that Manchester City are lining up a £60m bid to try and lure Alexis to the Etihad.

Arsene Wenger insists the club will resist temptation to cash-in, despite the fact Sanchez has just one year remaining on his contract, and says we’re prepared to run the risk of losing him for nothing in 12 months time.

On his talkSPORT show this morning, Jim White – who also works for Sky Sports – says he believes Sanchez will still be an Arsenal player when the transfer window closes on August 31st.

White went on to say that he doesn’t believe the 28-year-old will follow Philippe Coutinho’s example in handing in a transfer request to try and force through a move.

White is quoted as saying by the Express:

“I think he’ll [Sanchez] be there, I think he will go into this new season an Arsenal player.

“I know it’s all guesswork, until we actually hear definitively from him. He’s so quiet about it, he’s very quietly going about his business.

“I can’t imagine any time soon the likes of Sanchez putting in a transfer request like Coutinho did the other day.”

I have to agree with White, I just don’t see Sanchez handing in a transfer request and I think he’ll be happy to see-out the final year of his contract and have his pick of who to join on a free next summer.

Sadly that means we could see him join Man City for nothing and lose out on circa £60m, which doesn’t sound like a sensible move to me. Personally, if Sanchez doesn’t commit to a new deal soon, I’d sell him to the highest bidder on the continent.
