[Tweets] ‘Buzzing’ Nelson sends message to Arsenal fans after making full debut
Arsenal wonderkid Reiss Nelson has sent a message to fans after making his full debut during our League Cup victory over Doncaster Rovers last night.
Nelson is considered as one of the hottest prospects in our youth system after starring for the under-23s this campaign with six goals in his six appearances so far.
The 17-year-old made his debut off the bench against Cologne in the Europa League last week and was handed his first start for Arsenal against Doncaster last night.
Nelson wasn’t played in his strongest position as he was deployed in the right wing-back role and I think he would have been more confortable further forward.
Therefore, it was understandable the teenager didn’t have his best game but he still showed flashes of his potential and I’m sure he will have learned a lot from the game.
Nelson has now taken to Twitter to say he was ‘buzzing’ to make his first Arsenal start and to send a message of thanks to the fans for their support.
Theo Walcott, Per Mertesacker, Rob Holding, David Ospina, Mohamed Elneny and Alex Iwobi have also posed messages on Twitter after helping Arsenal progress to the fourth round.
Here is what the players have been saying:
