Team news: Arsenal boss reveals fresh injury blow + update on Mesut Ozil

Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the press this morning ahead of our clash with Huddersfield on Wednesday night and he’s provided a team news update ahead of the game.

The boss has revealed that Mesut Ozil will return to training today and a late decision will be made over his inclusion in the squad to face Huddersfield tomorrow night.

Ozil was forced to miss Sunday’s dramatic victory over Burnley after falling ill on the night before the game but it looks like the German international has a chance of returning on Wednesday.

Theo Walcott should also be back in contention after recovering from illness that’s kept him out for the last three games as Wenger confirmed that the only serious absentee is Santi Cazorla.

However, one player who looks set to miss out tomorrow night is Alex Iwobi as the manager has revealed that the attacker picked up a dead leg during the win at Turf Moor on Sunday.

Iwobi replaced Ozil in the starting eleven at the weekend but it seems he suffered a knock so there should be at least one change to our attack tomorrow night.

The Huddersfield game is a great chance for us to collect three points and cement our position in the top four but it will be interesting to see if Wenger decides to rotate his side with Manchester United coming to the Emirates on Saturday.

The boss said at his press conference this morning that he will field his strongest side and won’t have one eye on the United game but we’ll have to wait and see whether that’s the truth or if he’s telling the media a little white lie.
