Arsenal suffer fresh injury blow as Wenger confirms 6 players will miss FA Cup clash
Arsenal have been dealt a fresh injury blow with Granit Xhaka the latest player to be ruled out of Sunday’s FA Cup clash with Nottingham Forest.
Xhaka completed the full ninety minutes during Wednesday night’s thrilling 2-2 draw with Chelsea but it seems the midfielder picked up a groin injury during the game.
Arsene Wenger revealed the injury at his press conference this morning and says Xhaka will now miss this weekend’s FA Cup third round tie with Forest but it doesn’t sound like the issue is too serious.
Xhaka joins an ever-growing injury list with Nacho Monreal still sidelined by an ankle injury that’s hampered him in recent games and he’s not due back for another fortnight.
Aaron Ramsey is also still missing due to a hamstring injury but the Welsh international will hopefully be available for the first leg of our Carabao Cup semi-final with Chelsea on Wednesday.
Olivier Giroud remains sidelined by a hamstring injury while Sead Kolasinac is also still nursing an ankle problem that kept him out of the Chelsea game in midweek.
With Laurent Koscielny once again ruled out with an Achilles injury that he picked up last weekend it means Wenger is without six key players for the Forest game on Sunday.
At Colney. Wenger: "Kolasinac, Koscielny, Monreal, Giroud and Ramsey, they are all still out. From Wednesday, we lose Xhaka who finished with a tight groin. I will rotate a little bit."

The boss is set to rotate his starting eleven and rest some of our important players ahead of the Chelsea game so we should see the likes of David Ospina, Per Mertesacker, Francis Coquelin, Mohamed Elneny, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott get recalls this weekend.
