Balague: Arsenal working on secret signing in addition to Aubameyang
According to Guillem Balague, Arsenal are working on a secret second signing in addition to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after agreeing a deal to sign the Borussia Dortmund hitman.
After weeks of negotiations with Dortmund it seems we’ve finally found a breakthrough as multiple outlets are reporting that a deal has now been agreed for Aubameyang.
Balague says Arsenal will pay the German giants £53m with another £2.5m in add ons if we win a major trophy or progress from the group stages of the Champions League in the future.
The Sky Sports reporter says all that remains before Aubameyang is an Arsenal player is for him to undergo his medical as personal terms have already been agreed with the striker.
However, it seems the Gabon international might not be the last player to arrive before the window slams shut on Wednesday night as Balague claims Arsenal are also working on a second secret signing.
The Spanish journalist doesn’t give any further details on who the mystery player is, he just tweeted to confirm details of the Aubameyang deal and say it’s not the only transfer we’re working on.
ALL DONE! @Aubameyang7 will be #AFC player pending medical. Fixed fee of £53m with £2.5m adds on if major trophies won, pass CL group stage (so pays itself). Wages not even half what Alexis wanted. Not the only deal #AFC working on

Understandably, Arsenal fans have been speculating over who Balague is talking about but we’ve been strongly linked with West Brom defender Jonny Evans in recent days.
Wenger is understood to be in the market for another centre-back as Per Mertesacker will retire in June, Laurent Koscielny is plagued by an Achilles injury while Rob Holding is also being lined-up for a loan move before the end of the month.
So it makes sense for us to sign an experienced centre-back but we’re reportedly reluctant to meet West Brom’s £20m+ asking price as Evans will be available for just £3m in the summer if they’re relegated.
Of course Wenger could have another surprise up his sleeve but we’ll have to wait and see whether we manage to get this mystery deal over the line before the window shuts on Wednesday night.
