Video: Man Utd 2-1 Arsenal: Young Guns undone by late Fellaini header
A young Arsenal side put in a spirited performance but fell to a stoppage-time Marouane Fellaini header as Manchester United won 2-1 at Old Trafford this afternoon.
Arsene Wenger named his youngest starting eleven in almost seven years as he rested his key players ahead of Thursday’s Europa League semi-final second leg in Madrid.
We fell behind in the 16th minute when an unmarked Paul Pogba scored from 5 yards after Hector Bellerin had blocked Alexis Sanchez’s goal-bound header on to the post.
To be fair, we actually played pretty well for the rest of the first half but lacked any clinical edge in the final third so went in to the break trailing 1-0.
We managed to level things up just five minutes in to the second half as former United attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan drove home a wonderful effort from 18 yards.
It looked like we were about to secure our first away point of 2018 but predictably Fellaini came off the bench to head home in the 92nd minute to snatch a win for United.
Here are the goals:
