Arsenal will be looking to make it three wins in a row when we take on Newcastle United at St James’ Park after the international break.

Unai Emery endured a difficult start to life at the Emirates after replacing Arsene Wenger in the summer as he slumped to opening defeats to Manchester City and Chelsea.

However, we recovered to register a 3-1 victory over West Ham before beating Cardiff City in a five-goal thriller last time out so the Arsenal boss will be hoping to build some momentum with another positive result next weekend.

Newcastle have also suffered from a disappointing start to the new campaign as Rafa Benitez’s men have just one point to show from their four Premier League games so far and sit in the bottom three so this should be a great chance for Arsenal to pick up an away win.

Team news

Thankfully we still have several key players training at London Colney during the international break as Mesut Ozil and Petr Cech have retired from duty while the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Hector Bellerin, Bernd Leno, Matteo Guendouzi, Shkodran Mustafi and Nacho Monreal weren’t called up by their countries.

Hopefully Aaron Ramsey, Sokratis and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang return in good health as they should all start against Newcastle while Lucas Torreira will be hoping to make his full debut in midfield.

Laurent Koscielny is still out with an Achilles injury so he remains on the sidelines with Sead Kolasinac, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Carl Jenkinson.

Betting odds

Arsenal are currently the even-money favourites with NetBet to win the game and that looks to be a solid bet. Newcastle are struggling for form but are available at 29/10 if you fancy the hosts to pick up their first win of the season and the draw is on offer at 5/2.

Both sides like to play football so you would expect their to be goals in this game so over 2.5 match goals looks tempting at odds of 4/5 while both teams to score at 7/10 is also a decent bet. Arsenal seem to be finding their groove going forward so I think we’ll score 2 or 3 goals but our weak defence continues to be our Achilles heel so no doubt we’ll gift Newcastle at least one goal. Arsenal to win 2-1 is available at 7/1 with 3-1 on offer at 12/1.

If you want even more value, then why not throw in Aubameyang as first goalscorer in a 3-1 win for great odds of 20/1. The Gabon international scored an excellent goal at Cardiff and I think he’ll go on a bit of a run now in front of goal.
