Video: Arsenal 0-2 Tottenham: Mkhitaryan miss key as Gunners crash out
It was a tale of missed chances as Arsenal crashed out of the Carabao Cup thanks to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Tottenham this evening.
We should’ve opened the scoring in the 12th minute when a lovely one-two between Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey led to Miki going through on goal but he took it too early and allowed Paulo Gazzaniga time to make a smart save.
It was a huge miss and predictably Spurs made us pay as a Sokratis slip led to Hueng-min Son racing clear and the South Korean international fired past Petr Cech to make it 0-1 in the 20th minute.
Arsenal started the second half on the front foot but we failed to make it count and Tottenham capitalised once again as Harry Kane found Dele Alli with a long ball and he chipped over Cech for 2-0.
Alexandre Lacazette should have responded immediately but his effort clipped the post from close range and that miss pretty much summed up our night.
There was no way back so we crashed out of the League Cup with Tottenham progressing to the semi-finals.
Here are the goals:
