Arsenal desperately need to get back to winning ways when they head to the London Stadium to take on West Ham on Monday night.

Freddie Ljungberg has failed to turn around Arsenal’s fortunes since being installed as interim manager following Unai Emery’s departure last week as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Norwich in his first game in charge before slumping to a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Brighton on Thursday evening.

The loss has extended Arsenal’s winless run to an incredible nine games in all competitions – which is there worst run since 1977 and has left the Gunners sitting 10th in the Premier League table and 10 points adrift of the top four.

So Ljungberg is under huge pressure to get Arsenal back to winning ways on Monday and they’ll be up against a West Ham side who are also desperate for points following their 2-0 defeat at Wolves on Wednesday.

Betting tips

According to the current live betting odds, Arsenal are the even money favourites to win the game with West Ham priced at 5/2. The draw can be backed at 3/1 which could tempt some bettors considering both sides poor form.

There have been plenty of goals in Arsenal’s recent games and their poor defence will give West Ham plenty of opportunities so there should be goals at the London Stadium. Over 2.5 match goals at odds of 2/5 looks nailed on and even money on over 3.5 goals could also be a good bet.

Arsenal’s winless run can’t go on forever so we wouldn’t be surprised to see the north Londoners edge this game. A 2-1 Arsenal win can be backed at 15/2 while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as first goalscorer in a 2-1 away win increases the odds to 38/1.

West Ham have won just 4 of their last 15 games and have picked up wins in just 2 of their last 6 games at the London Stadium. The Hammers  men failed to build on their 1-0 win at Chelsea as they crashed to a 2-0 defeat at Wolves in midweek so the pressure is back on Manuel Pellegrini’s shoulders. West Ham sit 15th in the table – just two points above the relegation zone – but a win on Monday would take them level with Arsenal.

The Gunners are obviously on a shocking run but they have a good record against West Ham having won 61 of the 124 meetings [W61 D34 L29]. Arsenal are also unbeaten in 7 of their last 8 matches against the Hammers in all competitions so they should be confident of a positive result.
