Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Man City: Elneny & Tierney start for Gunners
Arsenal take on Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon needing a win to get ourselves back in contention for the European qualification places.
Mikel Arteta has made some changes from the side that draw with Benfica in the Europa League on Thursday night. Rob Holding and Pablo Mari are recalled to start in the middle of defence with Gabriel and David Luiz dropping to the bench.
Kieran Tierney returns at left-back after recovering from a knee injury while Hector Bellerin keeps his place at right-back so Cedric Soares makes way. Mo Elneny partners Granit Xhaka in the Arsenal midfield which means Dani Ceballos is given a breather this afternoon.
Surprisingly, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard both start and Arteta has also resisted the temptation to rest Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. However, Emile Smith Rowe is rested as he drops to the bench with Nicolas Pepe recalled in attack.
Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Martinelli and Willian all join Smith Rowe on the bench so Arsenal have plenty of options if Arteta needs to freshen things up.
Unfortunately, Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan are both passed fit to start for Man City so they look strong.
These are the line-ups for the game:
Arsenal
Leno; Bellerin, Mari, Holding, Tierney; Elneny, Xhaka; Odegaard, Saka, Pepe; Aubameyang
Subs: Ryan, Cedric, Luiz, Gabriel, Ceballos, Willian, Smith Rowe, Martinelli, Lacazette
Man City
Ederson, Cancelo, Dias, Stones, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Bernardo, Mahrez, De Bruyne, Sterling
Subs: Steffen, Walker, Jesus, Aguero, Laporte, Rodrigo, Torres, Mendy, Foden
