[Image] Duo ruled out as Martinelli & Elneny start: My Arsenal line-up vs Palace
Arsenal take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this evening. This is the team I’d like to see Mikel Arteta select for the match…
Berno Leno should once again start in goal and I hope we see Arsenal playing a back four again after Arteta used a back three/five against Chelsea last week.
David Luiz is missing with an on-going thigh injury so I’d like Gabriel to keep his place alongside Rob Holding – although I have a feeling the boss will opt for Pablo Mari tonight.
It looks like Hector Bellerin may have played his last game for the club as he’s out with a leg injury so I’d go with Calum Chambers at right-back while Kieran Tierney should keep his place on the left.
Granit Xhaka is back in training after recovering from a groin injury but he’s not likely to be fit enough to start against Palace. Thomas Partey should keep his place but I’d recall Dani Ceballos alongside him. Mo Elneny did well during Arsenal’s win over Chelsea but the Palace game will be a different proposition and I think Ceballos is more suited.
Emile Smith Rowe was Arsenal’s match winner at Stamford Bridge so he deserves to keep his place. That means Martin Odegaard may have to settle for a place on the bench.
I really hope we see Gabriel Martinelli starting Arsenal’s last two matches as I want Arteta to use these games to give him some much-needed game time in the first team. Martinelli is a special talent so let’s get him confident ahead of next season.
Bukayo Saka should also start in the Arsenal attack this evening and I’d go with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up front. That means the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe and Willian will have to make-do with places on the bench.
This would be my Arsenal line-up:
