Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Liverpool – No Tomiyasu, Salah misses out
Arsenal will be looking to tighten their grip on fourth spot with a win over Liverpool at the Emirates tonight.
Aaron Ramsdale once again starts in goal for Arsenal and he’ll be looking to continue his excellent form between the sticks. Kieran Tierney lines-up at left-back as usual for the Gunners so Nuno Tavares misses out on a starting spot again.
Ben White will be looking to put-in another commanding display alongside Gabriel at the heart of Arsenal’s back four. Takehiro Tomiyasu isn’t risked as he misses out on a place in the squad once again. Cedric Soares therefore keeps his place at right-back.
Thomas Partey has excelled in the holding role recently and he keeps his place along with Granit Xhaka in the middle of the park against Liverpool. Martin Odegaard has been one of Arsenal’s best players in recent months so we’ll need him to be on form again tonight if we’re to get a result.
Bukayo Saka starts on the right flank yet again while Alexandre Lacazette leads the line up front. The Frenchman has struggled for goals but has made up for it with superb link-up play and assists for his team mates.
Gabriel Martinelli keeps his place on the left side of attack so Emile Smith Rowe has to once again settle for a place among the Arsenal substitutes this evening.
There is some good news from the Liverpool team as Mo Salah isn’t named in the starting eleven. However, Jurgen Klopp is able to bring in Diogo Jota alongside Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane so the visitors can still put out a formidable attack.
These are the line-ups:
Arsenal
Ramsdale, Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tierney, Partey, Xhaka, Saka, Ødegaard, Martinelli, Lacazette.
Subs: Leno, Smith Rowe, Holding, Pepe, Tavares, Lokonga, Elneny, Nketiah, Swanson.
Liverpool
Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago, Jota, Mane, Diaz
Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Keita, Firmino, Salah, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Minamino.
