Arsenal set to hold talks over deal to sign Gleison Bremer
According to 90min, Torino sporting director Davide Vagnati is heading to London to hold talks with Arsenal over a potential deal for £43m-rated centre-back Gleison Bremer.
Mikel Arteta is looking to strengthen his options in defence this summer and we’ve been strongly linked with a move for Ajax star Lisandro Martinez in recent weeks.
However, with Manchester United also reportedly keen on the Dutch international, it looks like Arsenal are lining-up possible alternatives in-case Martinez opts to link-up with former boss Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
One name that’s been put forward in the media is Bremer and 90min are claiming that Torino director Vagnati is heading to London to hold talks with Arsenal over a potential deal for the centre-back.
The report says Torino value the 25-year-old at £43m [€50m] but Arsenal aren’t the only club seemingly in the running as the Serie A giants are hoping to create a bidding war with our London rivals.
As per 90min, Vagnati plans to also speak with chiefs from Chelsea and Tottenham during his trip and hopes they, along with Arsenal, will battle it out over a deal to sign Bremer this summer.

We may also face stiff competition from Italy as the report claims that Inter Milan and Juventus are also showing an interest in the South American – although they’ll struggle to meet Torino’s asking price.
No doubt Arsenal will be desperate to avoid a bidding war situation but Bremer could be a top class signing if we were able to lure him to the Emirates Stadium.
The Brazilian-born defender – who’s expected to declare his intention to play for Italy – won Serie A’s Best Defender award for the 2021/22 season following a number of impressive displays.
Bremer is a specialist centre-back who’d provide competition for the likes of Ben White, Gabriel and William Saliba next season. However, Arteta may still favour a move for Martinez as he’s also able to play at left-back so would offer cover for Kieran Tierney.
Let’s see how things progress over the coming days but it looks like Arsenal are in the market for a defender with Bremer emerging as a potential target.
