Arsenal are at Elland Road to take on Leeds United this afternoon looking for a win to cement their place at the top of the Premier League table.
The boss has made some changes from the starting eleven that beat Bodo Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday night and Aaron Ramsdale is among those recalled. Arsenal’s No.1 starts between the sticks so Matt Turner makes way.
Arteta has recalled Gabriel in defence after he was rested in midweek so Rob Holding drops to the bench with William Saliba keeping his place in the back four. Takehiro Tomiyasu comes back into the side at left-back with Kieran Tierney dropped to the bench while Ben White keeps his place at right-back.
Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is recalled after being given a breather in the Europa League group stage game. Albert Sambi Lokonga did reasonably well in that game but drops to the bench this afternoon.
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard keeps his place in the starting eleven at Elland Road but Fabio Vieira makes way to the subs bench as Granit Xhaka is recalled after being given a well-deserved rest against Bodo Glimt.
Gabriel Martinelli is back in the Arsenal attack so Reiss Nelson drops out after failing to take his opportunity to shine last time out. Bukayo Saka keeps his place on the right flank after scoring the winner in Norway.
Gabriel Jesus has been declared fit to return up front after being given the night off in the Europa League. Eddie Nketiah drops back to the bench where he’s joined by Marquinhos.
Here are the confirmed line-ups:
Leeds
Meslier; Kristensen, Koch, Cooper, Struijk; Roca, Adams; Aaronson, Rodrigo, Harrison; Sinisterra.
Subs: Klaesson, Ayling, Firpo, Bamford, Summerville, Llorente, Gelhardt, Greenwood, Klich.
Arsenal
Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tomiyasu; Partey, Xhaka, Odegaard; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.
Subs: Turner, Tierney, Nketiah, Holding, Cedric, Vieira, Lokonga, Nelson, Marquinhos.
