Arsenal predicted line-up against Newcastle United

Arsenal will face off against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon at St. James’ Park.

The Gunners overcame a four game winless streak by beating city rivals Chelsea in midweek and Mikel Arteta’s side will be hoping to keep their momentum going by defeating Newcastle this weekend in order to keep their title dreams alive.

However, coming away victorious against the Magpies will be an extremely daunting task for Arsenal as Eddie Howe’s side have only lost one game at St. James’ Park so far this term. So, Arsenal will have to be at their very best to earn all three points from this encounter.

Expected Arsenal line-up vs Newcastle

Mikel Arteta is unlikely to make many changes to his winning combination from the last game. So, Aaron Ramsdale will continue between the sticks for Arsenal and Matt Turner may have to settle for a place on the bench.

William Saliba – valued at around £48m by Transfermarkt – is expected to remain sidelined so Jakub Kiwior should keep hold of his place at the back after a solid performance last time out. Gabriel Magalhaes limped off in the last game after sustaining an injury so he is a doubt ahead of this game but is likely to be passed fit to start on Sunday. Meaning Rob Holding could remain among the substitutes.

Ben White is set to remain in the right-back position for Arsenal and Oleksandr Zinchenko should be on the opposite side once again, leaving Kieran Tierney on the bench.

Jorginho replaced Thomas Partey against Chelsea and displayed an excellent performance but, the Ghanaian may return to the starting eleven against Newcastle. Martin Odegaard and Granit Xhaka are expected to be deployed in the more advanced midfielder roles so, Fabio Vieira and Emile Smith Rowe will have to make do with a place on the bench.

The front three is expected to remain the same from the previous fixture so Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka should continue. In that case, Gabriel Martinelli will be among the Arsenal substitutes once again along with Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah.

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny have been ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury issues so they are not in contention to feature this weekend.
