Arsenal are set to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final game of this season at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Despite enjoying a stellar campaign for the majority of this term, the Gunners are going to end the season on a disappointing note after losing the Premier League title race to Manchester City.

Nevertheless, Mikel Arteta’s side have managed to achieve their primary objective – which is to finish in the top four and secure the Champions League qualification.

Having lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest last time out, Arsenal will be looking to end the season positively by defeating the Wolves this weekend.

Expected Arsenal line-up vs Wolves

There is a real possibility that Mikel Arteta may opt to make wholesale changes to his starting eleven against the Wolves as the Gunners have nothing at stake in this fixture. However, it is likely that Aaron Ramsdale will continue between the sticks and in that case, Matt Turner will remain on the bench.

William Saliba is unavailable for selection due to a back problem so Jakub Kiwior and Gabriel Magalhaes might keep hold of their place at the heart of Arsenal’s defence, leaving Rob Holding among the substitutes.

Ben White should start in the right-back position and Kieran Tierney could return to his preferred left-back role as Oleksandr Zinchenko is not in contention to feature due to injury issues.

After starting in the fullback position last time out, Thomas Partey is likely to return to the bench this weekend and Jorginho should commence in the anchor role versus the Wolves.

Granit Xhaka – who has heavily been linked with a move away from the club – could be commencing his last game for Arsenal this weekend and alongside the Swiss, Martin Odegaard would start to complete the midfield three for the Emirates club. So, Fabrio Vieira and Emile Smith Rowe are expected to be among the substitutes once again.

Gabriel Martinelli remains sidelined owing to an ankle issue. So, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka should continue as the front three for the North London club, meaning Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson will have to settle for a place on the bench in this encounter.
