Arsenal told to pay £15m to sign Turkish starlet Arda Guler

Arsenal have been made aware that they will have to spend £15m to sign Fenerbahce starlet Arda Guler this summer, as per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a stellar breakthrough campaign in the 2022/23 season, scoring four goals and notching up three assists in 11 Super Lig starts.

It appears the youngster’s eye-catching displays for Fenerbahce haven’t gone unnoticed as he has been attracting a lot of attention from several big European clubs in recent times with Arsenal among those to have registered their interest.

It has previously been suggested that after being impressed by Guler, the Gunners have decided to open talks with the player’s representatives over a potential summer move and it has also been reported that the North London club are currently in pole position to lure him to the Emirates Stadium.

Now, writing on Twitter, Romano has reported that Guler has a £15m[€17.5m] release clause in his current contract and that can be triggered in this transfer window. So, Arsenal could be able to broker a deal for the highly talented midfielder in a bargain deal should they make a concrete approach this summer.

However, the journalist says that securing Guler’s signature won’t be straightforward for Arsenal as several top clubs are also keen on purchasing him.

Romano wrote:

“Understand Turkish gem Arda Güler will be now available for just €17.5m fee net after taxes/solidarity …yes, just €17.5m for one of the biggest talents in Europe as release clause will be activated after playing 1500 minutes. Many top clubs, trying to convince the player.”

The youngster is a left-footed attacking midfielder but can also play in the right-wing. He is technically sound, can play threading passes between the lines, has the ability to create chances for the attackers, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas and also can contribute defensively as well.

He is an extremely talented midfielder and possesses the potential to become a world-class player going forward. With Arsenal looking to sign a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka, Guler could be an excellent acquisition if they manage to secure his signature this summer.

It is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal manage to purchase Guler in this transfer window to strengthen their front line.
