Ex-Gunner heaps praise on Arsenal target Mohammed Kudus
Former striker turned pundit Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Arsenal target and Ajax star Mohammed Kudus.
The Gunners have been busy in this transfer window and have already spent over £200m to bolster the squad in order to bridge the gap with Manchester City.
It has been suggested that the North London club won’t stop their spending spree just yet as they are planning to sign more players in this window.
It has been reported that Arsenal want to sign a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka and they have been linked with a few options in recent times with Kudus emerging as a serious target.
Ajax are reportedly ready to cash-in on their star man if his potential suitors such as the Gunners decide to submit an offer of around £40m. So, Mikel Arteta’s side will have to spend big to secure the Ghana international’s service if they formalise their interest.
Kudus to Arsenal
Speaking on The Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Campbell has said that he has been impressed by the Kudus’ recent displays for Ajax and the African has a similar playing style to Saka.
The pundit further states that Kudus is a versatile player as he can play on the right-wing, as a number ten and also in the centre-forward position. So, a £40m investment would be a ‘great value for money’ for Arsenal if they opt to acquire his service.
Campbell said:
“I remember watching him for Ajax and I was very impressed with him. He actually plays a bit like Saka at times, where he welcomes the contact and shifts away from it. He can play attacking midfield, up front or on the right, for £40m he’s great value for money.”
However, it has recently been reported that purchasing Kudus won’t be straightforward for Arsenal as Chelsea are also keen on acquiring his service and are close to agreeing personal terms with the player.
Kudus is quick, technically sound, can wriggle past opposition defenders in tight areas, is excellent in link-up play, works extremely hard without possession and also can finish off his chances.
The Ajax star has already showcased his talent at the highest level for club and country in recent times so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they manage to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in this transfer wind
