Arsenal ready to cash-in on Thomas Partey in January
Arsenal are reportedly ready to cash-in on Thomas Partey in the January window, as per Football Transfers.
After joining the Gunners back in 2020 from Atletico Madrid in a £45m deal, the African has displayed promising performances in the Premier League over the last few years.
However, his consistent injury issues have become a real concern for the North London club in recent times. It was thought that Arsenal were ready to let him leave this summer after being fed up with his fitness problems.
But, they eventually opted to keep hold of him and the African even started the season promisingly in a new inverted fullback position. However, his recent muscle injury has seemingly made the mind of Mikel Arteta that Partey can’t be trusted to stay fit for a whole season.
According to the report by Football Transfers, Arsenal have reached a mutual agreement with Partey that the club will listen to offers for him in the January window to cash-in on him.
Arsenal ready to sell Partey
The report further claims that Juventus are planning to make a swoop to sign him this winter to replace Paul Pogba, who has been suspended after being found guilty of breaching the anti-doping offences, and Arsenal would be open to letting him leave if the Bianconeri match their valuation.
Fabrizio Romano has recently reported that Arsenal were demanding a fee of around £34m to sell Partey this summer and they are likely to ask a similar fee to let the African leave in January.
The North London club have purchased Declan Rice from West Ham United in a £105m deal this summer to bolster their midfield department. However, if Arsenal sell Partey over the coming months then they will have to sign a new midfielder to replace the 30-year-old.
The Emirates club are reportedly planning a swoop for Zubimendi in January and he could be the option that Arsenal are planning to sign should they offload Partey.
With Partey’s contract set to expire in less than two years, letting him leave in January will allow Arsenal to make the most profit out of his departure. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether they eventually manage to sell the Ghanaian in the upcoming window.
