Arsenal predicted line-up against PSV Eindhoven

Arsenal are set to return to Champions League action after remaining absent for six years when they will welcome PSV Eindhoven at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners have enjoyed a promising start to this season in the Premier League, winning four of the first five encounters and sitting fourth in the table with 13 points.

The North London club are in a relatively easy group in the Champions League as they have been drawn alongside PSV, Sevilla and RC Lens. So, it shouldn’t be an issue for Mikel Arteta’s side to secure their place in the knockout stage.

But, first, they will have to negotiate the challenge of PSV tomorrow and they are expected to come away with all three points from this encounter.

Expected Arsenal line-up vs PSV

Arteta made a big call last weekend by dropping Aaron Ramsdale and starting David Raya. So, it remains to be seen who will start tomorrow for the Gunners in goal. It is expected that the Spanish boss will continue with his compatriot.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are likely to be the centre-back pairing for Arsenal, leaving Jakob Kiwior on the bench. Ben White should keep hold of his place in the right-back position and Oleksandr Zinchenko could be on the opposite side. In that case, Takehiro Tomiyasu will have to settle for a place on the bench once again.

Jurrien Timber isn’t in contention to feature tomorrow after sustaining a serious knee issue on his Premier League debut for the North London club.

Declan Rice is set to continue as the deep-lying playmaker and in front of him, Martin Odegaard and Fabio Vieira should start in midfield. So, Kai Havertz will have to make do with a place on the bench once again. Thomas Partey has sustained a muscle issue so he isn’t expected to be involved in this encounter tomorrow.

Gabriel Martinelli picked up a hamstring issue in the last game against Everton and was taken off midway through the first half. So, he isn’t in contention to feature in this fixture and in his place, Leandro Trossard could commence.

Bukayo Saka will keep hold of his place in his preferred right flank and Gabriel Jesus should start in the number nine position ahead of Eddie Nketiah. So, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe will be among the substitutes once again.
