Arsenal keeping tabs on Club Brugge star Antonio Nusa
Arsenal are reportedly set to send scouts to watch Club Brugge star Antonio Nusa in action against Besiktas on Thursday ahead of a potential move in the upcoming transfer window, as per the Nieuwsblad Sport journalist Pieter-Jan Calcoen.
After displaying promising performances for club and country, the 18-year-old has burst onto the scenes in recent times. It seems having been impressed by the Norwegian’s recent eye-catching performances, several big clubs around Europe have already registered their interest in signing him, including Arsenal.
Writing on Twitter, Calcoen has reported that Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Nusa’s development ahead of a potential move and are set to send scouts to watch him in action on Thursday evening.
However, the journalist claims that securing Nusa’s signature won’t be straightforward for the North London club as Manchester United, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are also plotting a swoop for him.
Nusa to Arsenal
Chelsea reportedly made a firm approach to sign Nusa this summer and submitted a £26m proposal to Brugge. But, the Belgian side rejected the offer as they were demanding more than that fee to let their star man leave.
So, it is now clear that Arsenal will have to spend more than £26m to purchase Nusa if they formalise their interest in the upcoming transfer window.
Nusa likes to play on the left-winger, he is quick, technically sound, can wriggle past opposition defenders in tight areas, has the ability to create chances for fellow attackers and also can finish off his chances.
The 18-year-old is a highly talented forward and possesses the potential to become a top-class winger going forward. So, he would be a great signing for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually opt to make a concrete approach to sign the Brugge star in the upcoming transfer window to strengthen their attacking department.
Meanwhile, following a comfortable victory over Everton last weekend, Arsenal will commence their Champions League campaign in midweek against PSV Eindhoven before the North London Derby versus Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday so, a few tough fixtures lie ahead for Arsenal.
