Arsenal predicted line-up against Brentford

Arsenal will be travelling to the Gtech Community Stadium to face off against Brentford in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners will be coming into this game off the back of a 2-2 draw versus Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby. Mikel Arteta’s side found themselves leading twice courtesy of Cristian Romero’s own goal and Bukayo Saka’s strike from the spot.

But, Spurs came back brilliantly on both occasions and eventually went away with a point from this encounter. So, Arsenal have already fallen four points behind the title rival Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Gunners will be hoping to return to winning ways in midweek’s Carabao Cup game before next weekend’s league encounter against Bournemouth. However, defeating Brentford at their home won’t be an easy task for Arteta’s troops.

Expected Arsenal line-up vs Brentford

Arteta is likely to shuffle his pack in this encounter so Aaron Ramsdale – who joined the club in a £30m deal – should return to the starting eleven and David Raya could be given a breather in midweek.

Gabriel Magalhaes could continue at the back for Arsenal and Takehiro Tomiyasu could be paired up with him, giving William Saliba rest. Cedric Soares and Jakub Kiwior could be the two fullbacks for the North London club so Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ben White should be among the substitutes.

Declan Rice and Fabio Vieira were withdrawn at the interval against Spurs last weekend due to injury issues. Luckily, it has been suggested that their injuries aren’t anything serious but they aren’t expected to feature in this encounter.

So, Mohamed Elneny could make his first appearance of this season tomorrow for Arsenal after recovering from his issue and Jorginho is likely to start alongside him. Kai Havertz is expected to complete the midfield three for the North London club, in that case, Martin Odegaard will be given a breather tomorrow.

Bukayo Saka also picked up a knock in the last game and Arteta has said that there is a possibility he might not be available this weekend so, he is not in contention to feature in this encounter. Therefore, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson could start on the flanks. Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are likely to remain sidelined due to injury issues.

Eddie Nketiah should be leading the line for Arsenal in this encounter, in that case, Gabriel Jesus will be among the substitutes. Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber aren’t in contention to feature in this encounter owing to injury problems.
