Arsenal predicted line-up against Newcastle United
Following a disappointing defeat against West Ham United in the Carabao Cup, Arsenal will take on Newcastle United in the Premier League at St. James’ Park on Saturday evening.
The Gunners endured a 3-1 loss versus the Hammers and as a consequence of that result, they have now been knocked out of the EFL Cup.
However, the North London club have enjoyed a stellar start to this season in the Premier League, accumulating 24 points from 10 games and sitting just behind the table topper Tottenham Hotspur.
So, Arsenal will be desperate to come away victorious tomorrow and continue their momentum in the league. However, defeating the Magpies at St. James’ Park won’t be easy and Mikel Arteta’s side will have to be at their very best to earn all three points from this fixture.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Newcastle
Arteta shuffled his squad a bit in the midweek but is expected to go with a strong eleven tomorrow. So, David Raya is likely to return to the starting eleven and Aaron Ramsdale will have to go back to the bench in this encounter.
William Saliba is also expected to return after a midweek breather and the Frenchman should be paired up with Gabriel Magalhaes at the back for Arsenal tomorrow.
Ben White could continue in the right-back position and Oleksandr Zinchenko should commence on the opposite side. So, Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu will have to settle for a place on the bench. Jurrien Timber remains sidelined due to a serious knee issue.
Thomas Partey isn’t available for selection owing to an injury so Jorginho could start in the deep-lying midfielder position. Declan Rice is expected to commence alongside the Italian, while Martin Odegaard should start in the advanced midfield position.
So, Kai Havertz and Fabio Vieira will have to make do with a place on the bench. Emile Smith Rowe has sustained a fresh injury and is set to remain sidelined for a few weeks so he isn’t in contention to feature tomorrow.
Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka should be patrolling on the flanks, while Eddie Nketiah could continue leading the line amid Gabriel Jesus’ injury absence. So, Leandro Trossard and Reiss Nelson will have to return to the bench after starting last time out.
