Arsenal to submit formal offer to sign Willian Pacho
Arsenal are reportedly preparing to submit a formal proposal to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Willian Pacho this summer, as per a recent report.
After joining the Eagles from Royal Antwerp last summer, the 22-year-old has established himself as a key player in Dino Toppmoller’s starting eleven this season, keeping seven clean-sheets and registering a solitary assist in 28 league appearances.
So, it seems after being impressed by the Ecuadorian’s performances this season the Gunners have registered a concrete interest in signing him.
According to the report by DAZN(via BolaVip), Arsenal are aiming to reinforce their backline this summer and have identified Pacho as a serious option.
The report further claims that the Gunners believe Pacho is an ideal option to play in Mikel Arteta’s system so they are planning to accelerate their efforts to secure his signature.
Pacho to Arsenal
It has been suggested that Arsenal are preparing to submit a formal proposal worth around £39m, but Frankfurt don’t want to let their star man leave for anything less than £51m. The report also says that Pacho is likely to leave the Bundesliga this summer and is ‘close’ to moving to the Premier League with Arsenal likely to be his destination.
The report says that Liverpool are also interested in signing Pacho but they aren’t looking to step up their interest yet so it seems Arteta’s side are currently ahead of the Merseyside club in this race.
Having recently joined Frankfurt, Pacho still has more than four years left in his current contract so Toppmoller’s side are currently in a strong position to demand a big fee to let their star man leave.
Pacho is a left-footed centre-back but can also play in the left-back position. He is quick, strong, comfortable with the ball at his feet, efficient in defensive contributions and also reads the game well.
The 22-year-old is a talented player and possesses high potential so he could be a shrewd signing for Arsenal if they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Emirates club can eventually manage to acquire his service in the upcoming transfer window to reinforce their defensive department.
