Arsenal to reignite interest in signing Dusan Vlahovic
Arsenal are reportedly planning to reignite their interest in signing Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic this summer, as per GiveMeSport.
After being impressed by the Serbian’s displays during his time at Fiorentina, the Gunners tried to purchase him to reinforce their frontline a few years ago. However, the forward rejected a move to the Emirates Stadium and eventually joined the Bianconeri. In the end, after failing to sign Vlahovic, Mikel Arteta’s side decided to purchase Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.
The Brazilian started his life in North London promisingly and was showing signs that he could become a talismanic figure for Arsenal. However, injury problems have hampered his time at the Emirates Stadium and he has now seemingly lost his place in Arteta’s starting eleven to Kai Havertz.
The German has enjoyed a promising debut campaign for Arsenal after joining from Chelsea last summer, playing a key role in their title charge this term. However, according to the report by GiveMeSport, although Havertz has been displaying impressive performances in recent times, Arsenal are keen on reinforcing their frontline by signing a new striker this summer.
The report further claims that Arsenal have identified Vlahovic as a key target and they could reignite their interest in signing him in the upcoming window. GiveMeSport states that Vlahovic could leave Juventus at the end of this season if the Bianconeri can’t manage to extend his contract with the Serbian set to enter the final two years of his current deal.
Vlahovic to Arsenal
The report also says that Juventus could accept a fee of around £55m if they cash-in on their star man and therefore, Vlahovic would be a significantly cheaper option than the other strikers for Arsenal.
However, it has also been reported that if Arsenal can’t manage to secure Vlahovic’s signature then they have earmarked Benjamin Sesko, Joshua Zirkzee and Alexander Isak as the alternative options.
Vlahovic is a highly talented striker and possesses the necessary attributes to flourish his career at the top-level. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to secure his signature in the upcoming window to reinforce their attacking department.
