Arsenal ‘willing to bid very hard’ to sign Viktor Tsygankov
Arsenal are reportedly ‘willing to bid very hard’ to sign Girona star Viktor Tsygankov this summer, as per the Spanish outlet AS.
Having joined the Catalan side from Dynamo Kyiv last year, the 26-year-old enjoyed a promising campaign in La Liga last term, scoring eight goals and registering seven assists in 30 appearances.
Girona enjoyed a historic campaign under Michel last term, finishing in top-four and qualifying for the Champions League next season. Tsygankov played a key role in that and it appears after being impressed by his displays, the Gunners have registered their interest in signing him.
The North London club have been looking to sign a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka over the last few years, but they haven’t opted to sign anyone yet. So, it remains to be seen whether they eventually sign a new right-sided forward ahead of next season.
According to the report by AS, Arsenal are interested in signing Tsygankov and they ‘have already approached’ the player’s representatives to talk about a potential summer move.
Tsygankov to Arsenal
The report further claims that the Gunners are ‘willing to bid very hard’ to sign him with Tsygankov having a £26m release clause included in his current contract. So, he would be an affordable signing for Arsenal should they secure his signature.
However, the Spanish outlet states that AC Milan are also keen on signing him and in addition, Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed their interest in him. Therefore, it could be difficult for Arsenal to get any potential deal done for him.
The Ukrainian is a technically gifted player and is a left-footed right-winger. He has the ability to play threading passes between the lines, can deliver excellent crosses from the wide areas, is efficient in finishing off his chances and also can create opportunities for fellow attackers.
Tsygankov has flourished in his career under Michel’s tutelage and considering Mikel Arteta plays a similar style of football as his compatriot, the Ukrainian could be a shrewd signing for Arsenal if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to sign the Girona star this summer to reinforce their attacking department.
