Top Arsenal Talent Smith Rowe Out for Bids

With the all-new season around the corner, the Gunners are looking to boost their signings. Fans with Arsenal tickets finally understand that the club is progressively considering professional striker options—something that has been missing for over two seasons. 

Mikel Arteta has given the green light for several transfers to get in new signings. Midfielder Emile Smith Rowe is one. 

Arsenal are prepared to let Emile Smith Rowe leave this summer and have set their asking price for the midfielder amid strong interest from rival Premier League clubs.

Smith Rowe emerged from Arsenal’s academy to establish himself as a first-team regular across an impressive 2021/22 campaign, with the 23-year-old racking up ten goals and two assists in the Premier League.

But Smith Rowe has struggled to consistently win games over the last two seasons due to a combination of form, fitness, and fierce competition for spots in the middle of the park.

It’s understood Arsenal is now open to offers for Smith Rowe, and both Crystal Palace and Fulham have seen opening bids knocked back for the out-of-favor attacking midfielder.

Smith Rowe is resigned to the fact that he may have to leave his boyhood team to secure regular game time and is considering his options this summer. Both Palace and Fulham are mulling over whether or not to return with improved offers.

According to sources, Arsenal could be persuaded to part with Smith Rowe should they receive a bid in the region of £25million before the transfer deadline.

The England international, who has been capped three times under Gareth Southgate, is tied into a deal at the Emirates until 2026.

Smith Rowe had good times, but in the squad mix for Arsenal, those with Arsenal tickets also believe that his inclusion does not fulfill the team’s needs. 

Since breaking into Arsenal’s first-team in 2018, Smith Rowe has made 115 appearances for the north London giants but has not made a start since the side’s 2-0 victory over Luton in March.

‘I love him as a player; he is a joy to watch,’ Mikel Arteta said when asked about Smith Rowe’s performance that day.

‘How he moves, changes direction, and how physical he was today without the ball. He went into duels and won a lot of them.

Alongside Smith Rowe, Arsenal is also making moves for Eddie Nketiah as they believe he is no longer needed by their squad. 

Ex-Arsenal captain Tony Adams believes both players should strongly consider summer moves to get their stuttering careers back on track.

‘If I have one criticism, is he [Arteta] has not used them enough,’ Adams told Sky Sports last month.

Ramsdale to Southampton? 

It was reported today that Southampton are interested in signing Arsenal goalie Aaron Ramsdale in a deal worth up to £30 million.

The Saints would have to meet his £120,000 weekly pay, which would mean he would become the most highly-paid player at St.Marys. 

But would it be worth it? And is this the right move for Ramsdale? 

Russell Martin’s army has only just been promoted back to the Premier League at first go after being relegated from the 2022/23 season, and there’s no guarantee that they will stay up as newbies either—this is the least he needs on his plate, especially after last season!

Despite starting last campaign as Arsenal’s choice keeper, within five games, he was replaced by David Raya on loan, who has now signed permanently for The Gunners, making Ramsdale’s future uncertain at The Emirates.

It was an unfortunate turn of events for the English cap, who was once phenomenal and a fan favorite of all present at the Emirates with Arsenal tickets, but David Raya is the better choice for the club. 

The backup England goalie mentioned before the Euros that he won’t tolerate the treatment any longer; “No footballer wants not to play. I’ve had a tough year personally not playing, and I never want to do that again; it was tough, it was tough.

“But I have a release now, I’m now here, I’ve got the greatest honor, the greatest badge on my chest, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, if I play a minute or no minutes, it will be the pinnacle for me, the best day ever.”

He has also been linked to Chelsea and Newcastle United, which will indeed outperform Southampton next season.

Ramsdale shouldn’t sell himself short for Southampton just because he would be guaranteed first-team action on the side, and they are looking to write off Gavin Bazunu for an experienced Premier League goalie. Several goalies with Premier League experience would fit the bill, but Ramsdale shouldn’t be preyed upon.

Ramsdale was Arsenal’s main goalie for two years, during which time he and the club were at one stage at the top of the Premier League table during the 2022/23 campaign for several months before slipping up late on in the season before the second was achieved. 

He has also been at the Premier League’s second-best club for two years. He also had the highest number of clean sheets approaching the halfway stage of the 2022/23 season, demonstrating his worth and talent as a keeper despite his few individual blunders last year when selected by Mikel Arteta.

Yes, Ramsdale could go to Southampton and become their highest-paid footballer, but he’s certainly better than a team that has only just regained Premier League status. 

If they struggled to maintain their position at the table, he could be used as a scapegoat, which could finish off his career!

Arsenal and Arteta must surely be aware of and consider this before they accept his potential notice. Chelsea and Newcastle may not be fighting for the Premiership title next year, but they definitely won’t be scrapping it out at the bottom of the table either.

Arsenal is also open to a loan move for Ramsdale, in which they could foot a percentage of his salary since Ramsdale is clearly unhappy staying on the club’s bench. 

It is saddening for those with Arsenal tickets to see him move, but they feel it will be the right move for him as a player.
