Arsenal could reportedly look to revive their interest in signing Napoli star Victor Osimhen this summer, as per the Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Nigerian’s future continues to hang in balance as he is reportedly keen on leaving the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona before the end of this window but he doesn’t have a concrete proposal from any of the top clubs around Europe.

Arsenal previously registered their interest in signing him but they have reportedly cooled their interest in him and are exploring other options with Viktor Gyokeres on their radar.

Chelsea were also mentioned as a potential suitor for the African but the Blues are now prioritising signing Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid to bolster the attack.

PSG also expressed their interest in signing him and even reportedly agreed on personal terms with the player. But, they couldn’t find an agreement with the Azzurri over the transfer fee so a deal didn’t come to fruition.

Osimhen to Arsenal

Now, Di Marzio states on his website that Arsenal remain keen on signing Osimhen and could submit an offer before the end of this window.

The journalist further claims that PSG haven’t given up on their hopes of signing Osimhen and Saudi Arabian clubs are also in this race but the player doesn’t want to move to the Middle East.

The 25-year-old has established himself as one of the best strikers in Serie A after joining the club from LOSC Lille, helping his side win the Scudetto a couple of years ago.

Osimhen is a talented player and has already showcased his goal-scoring prowess in the Italian top-flight over the last few years. So, he could be a good signing for Arsenal if they purchase him.

However, the Nigerian reportedly has a £112m release clause in his current contract and it is highly unlikely that the North London club will look to purchase him unless Antonio Conte’s side lower their valuation.

In addition, Osimhen has struggled with injury problems in recent years so it would be a big risk for Arsenal to sign him by splashing the reported fee.
