Arsenal ‘ready to make’ offer to sign Evan Ferguson
Arsenal are reportedly ‘ready to make’ a formal proposal to sign Brighton and Hove Albion star Evan Ferguson, as per Football Transfers.
It has widely been reported that the Gunners are keen on signing a new striker in this transfer window. Numerous names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium over the last few weeks with Viktor Gyokeres, Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen being among them.
However, with the transfer market set to slam shut in less than five days, there are questions marks whether they will eventually sign a new striker before the deadline.
But, considering the North London club are actively looking to sell Eddie Nketiah before the deadline, this might be an indication that they could still sign a prolific goal-scorer before the deadline.
Now, Football Transfers states that Arsenal are interested in the Republic of Ireland international and they are following his situation closely before making any potential swoop over the coming days.
Ferguson to Arsenal
The report further claims that Arsenal are ‘ready to make’ a formal proposal with the Seagulls open to accepting a fee of around £70m. However, Mikel Arteta’s side are hoping to sign him on an initial loan deal with an option to make the move permanent next summer.
Football Transfers states that purchasing the striker won’t be straightforward for the North London club as Manchester City are also keen on signing him to support Erling Haaland following Julian Alvarez’s departure.
The 19-year-old burst onto the scene after displaying a string of promising performances but, his development has stalled a bit in recent times due to injury problems.
Nevertheless, he is a highly talented player and still has plenty of time on his side to reach his full potential. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him before the deadline.
However, signing players from Brighton is always difficult and getting a deal done late in the transfer window could be an even more daunting task.
So, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to formalise their interest in signing him over the coming days.
