Arsenal to make decisive approach to sign Jonathan David

Arsenal are reportedly preparing to make a decisive approach to sign LOSC Lille star Jonathan David next year, as per the Italian outlet TMW.
It was widely reported in the summer window that the Gunners were keen on strengthening the frontline by signing a new centre-forward. Numerous names were linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium with Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres being among them.
However, the North London club eventually opted not to make a swoop for anyone before the deadline. But, it has started to emerge that Arsenal are still looking for a new striker and they could finally sign one next year.
According to the report by TMW, Mikel Arteta’s side are interested in David and could make a decisive approach to lure him to the Emirates Stadium soon.
The player has entered the final year of his current contract and it doesn’t look likely that he will be signing an extension with Les Dogues. Therefore, Arsenal could manage to agree on a pre-contract agreement with him in January to hire him as a free agent at the end of this season.

However, the report says that Juventus and Inter Milan have also expressed their interest in signing him by taking advantage of his current situation with the Nerazzurri looking to step up their efforts to get the deal done in January.
So, the Italian outlet says Arsenal are also interested in Dusan Vlahovic and could go for him in-case they fail to hire the Canadian.
Kai Havertz has established himself as the first-choice striker for Arsenal in recent times after joining from Chelsea last summer. Moreover, the Emirates club also have Gabriel Jesus but he has found it difficult to stay fit in recent seasons.
David, valued at around £42m by Transfermarkt, is a talented player and would add depth to Arsenal’s striker department if he were to join the club. However, Arteta’s side need to sign players who would be able to help them achieve their lofty ambitions.
But, there is concern whether David has the necessary qualities to do that, therefore, the North London club would be better off exploring other options to strengthen the frontline.
