Arsenal are reportedly showing a ‘clear’ interest in signing West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus, as per transfer insider Mike Brown.

After coming through the Hale End academy, Bukayo Saka has established himself as a talismanic figure for the Gunners over the years. But, after him, Mikel Arteta doesn’t have a proper quality backup option to support the Englishman.

Raheem Sterling was signed from Chelsea last summer but he has joined the club on a loan deal and has been struggling to find regular first-team football. Therefore, it is likely that the former Manchester City star will return to Stamford Bridge at the end of this season.

Therefore, Arsenal might look to hire a new wide attacker next year. Now, speaking on Football Insider, former West Ham scout Brown says that the Gunners are ‘definitely’ interested in signing Kudus.

The forward holds the ambition of playing European football regularly but he has been finding it hard to achieve that at London Stadium so he could be open to leaving West Ham.

Kudus to Arsenal

However, the transfer expert claims that Arsenal aren’t the only club interested in the African as several other Premier League clubs and clubs from outside of the English top-flight are also keen on hiring him.

When asked whether Arsenal are interested in signing Kudus, Brown said:

“It’s definitely one I can see happening. Kudus is a very infleuncial player, he can change a game at any moment. But Arsenal aren’t the only ones interested in him, I’ve heard he’s attracted interest from some of the top clubs and not just in the Premier League.

“I think Arsenal’s interest is clear and he’d do a good job for them, he’s certainly on their list. But that doesn’t mean that’s definitely where he’ll end up. Now, that’s good news for West Ham because it could help to drive his price tag up.”

The forward is valued at around £42m by Transfermarkt and still has more than three and a half years left in his current contract. West Ham usually play hardball to sell their star man and the North London club already experienced their city rivals’ resilience during Declan Rice’s signature.

Kudus likes to be deployed in either flank and is also comfortable in the false nine and attacking midfield role. He is a Premier League proven player so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him.
