Confirmed line-ups: Sporting Lisbon vs Arsenal – Rice and Havertz recalled
Arsenal are back in Champions League action as we take on Sporting Lisbon at the Estádio José Alvalade tonight.
Mikel Arteta has made some changes from the side that started during the 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend but goalkeeper David Raya is among those to keep their place as the Spaniard keeps goal once again.
Jurrien Timber starts at right-back in the continued absence of Ben White while Riccardo Calafiori retains his place at left-back. William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes marshal the Arsenal defence and they’ll be hoping to keep in-form Sporting hitman Viktor Gyokeres quiet.
Thomas Partey is recalled to start tonight with Jorginho making way while Declan Rice is passed fit to return in midfield after not featuring in the Forest game due to a toe problem. Mikel Merino is the man to make way.
Bukayo Saka will be the danger man for Arsenal as he starts on the right wing while Martin Odegaard captains the side off the back of an excellent display against Forest at the weekend.
Gabriel Martinelli was given a rest on Saturday but he returns on the left-wing with Leandro Trossard dropping out while Kai Havertz comes in for Gabriel Jesus up front after his rest against Forest.
