Arsenal showing ‘concrete interest’ in Dusan Vlahovic
Arsenal are reportedly showing a ‘concrete interest’ in signing Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic in January, as per TEAMtalk.
The Gunners scored 91 goals in 38 Premier League games last term and were the second-highest-scoring team just behind Manchester City – who eventually won the league.
Their goal ratio per match was 2.4 but this number has gone down significantly thus far this season as they have netted 43 goals in 22 league matches. They are the fourth-highest-scoring team in the league and the goal ratio per match is 1.9.
Kai Havertz has been the first-choice striker for Mikel Arteta’s side in recent times but he has found it difficult to showcase consistency. On the other hand, Gabriel Jesus was looking bright after returning to action having recovered from his injury.
However, he has now sustained a fresh knee issue and as a result, his season is over. Therefore, Arteta has been left with Havertz as the only centre-forward option.
Vlahovic to Arsenal
Now, TEAMtalk state that following Jesus’ injury, Arsenal want a new striker to reinforce the attack and Vlahovic is Arteta’s favourite option so he is the driving force to lure him to the Emirates Stadium.
The forward has entered the final 18 months of his current contract and the Bianconeri are ready to sell him after closing in on a deal to sign Randal Kolo Muani to bolster the attack.
However, they don’t want to let him leave for cheap and want at least £55m. No club have expressed their interest in Vlahovic after knowing the Bianconeri’s price tag with Arsenal the only team showing the most ‘concrete interest’.
However, they don’t want to spend that much and want a discount from Juventus. The Bianconeri may even opt to do that after sealing Kolo Muani’s signature. So, Arsenal are patiently waiting at the moment.
The Serbian burst onto the scene having displayed impressive performances for Fiorentina but he hasn’t been able to showcase his best after joining Juventus.
Nevertheless, the forward is a talented player and is still just 24, therefore, he has plenty of time to reach his full potential. So, Vlahovic would be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal if they purchase him.
