Arsenal make ‘promising offer’ to sign Sverre Halseth Nypan
Arsenal have reportedly made a ‘promising offer’ to sign Rosenborg star Sverre Halseth Nypan, as per GiveMeSport.
Norway have been producing top-class players over the last few years with Erling Haaland, Martin Odegaard and Alexander Sorloth being among them.
Now, from the new batch of talents, the 18-year-old has been attracting a lot of attention from several big clubs around Europe after showcasing his qualities in the Eliteserien, making 15 goal contributions last year.
GiveMeSport state that Manchester United were keen on signing the player and were leading this race as the player’s big dream is to play for the Old Trafford club.
However, they aren’t planning to make a concrete approach anytime soon as the Red Devils are exploring more experienced options to reinforce the squad in this window.
Nypan to Arsenal
So, Arsenal have entered the race and Odegaard has been talking with his compatriot to persuade him to move to the Emirates Stadium. Moreover, after receiving a ‘promising offer’ from the Gunners, the player has been tempted by the prospect of moving to the North London club.
Rosenborg are ready to let their star man leave for a fee of around £10m before the end of this winter window with the player’s current contract set to expire in less than 18 months.
The youngster is a technically gifted attacking midfielder and is also comfortable in the box-to-box role.
Martin Odegaard is Arsenal’s only creative midfielder. Fabio Vieira was hired to support the former Real Madrid star but the Portuguese never managed to showcase his qualities in the Premier League.
Ethan Nwaneri has emerged into the scene recently and has been showcasing signs that he has the potential to become a top-class player. However, he isn’t ready yet to play regularly in the English top-flight.
Therefore, signing a new No.10 would be the right decision and Nypan would be a great acquisition for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to beat the record Premier League champions in this race before the deadline.
