Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Flamengo’s Wesley França, according to RTI Esporte .

The Gunners are preparing for an active summer transfer window and have been linked with several players, with the latest being the 21-year-old Brazilian.

The full-back, who primarily operates as a right-back, has attracted interest from multiple top clubs across Europe, including several Premier League sides.

Arsenal in Contact Over Wesley França Deal

According to RTI Esporte, Arsenal have initiated contact with the player’s representatives this week to explore a potential move for the Brazilian defender.

França is valued at £29 million and is reportedly eager to continue his development in the Premier League.

Flamengo consider his departure inevitable, believing his market value could rise further after the FIFA Club World Cup, which is set to begin on July 14.

Wesley França has emerged as one of Brazil’s most promising young defenders in recent years.

Born in Açailândia, the talented full-back honed his skills in his homeland, starting his youth career at Atlético Tubarão before progressing through Flamengo’s academy.

The 21-year-old made his first-team breakthrough at Flamengo towards the end of 2021.

However, it wasn’t until the 2023 season that he cemented his place as a regular in the squad.

Since then, he has made over 100 appearances for the Rubro-Negro, contributing two goals and four assists.

Arsenal’s reported interest in França aligns with their ongoing strategy of recruiting young, high-potential talents.

With Flamengo prepared to let him leave, the North London side could look to strike a deal swiftly before his valuation rises further.

It remains uncertain whether Arsenal will be willing to meet Flamengo’s €35 million valuation to sign Wesley during the summer transfer window.

However, given the Brazilian full-back’s age and potential, the price tag set by the South American club appears justified.

At just 21 years old, Wesley represents a long-term investment, making the transfer fee a reasonable demand in today’s market.
