Brazilian Playmaker: “Of Course I Would Say Yes To Arsenal”

By on November 26, 2013

Brazilian playmaker Diego has admitted he would jump at the chance to join Arsenal amid rumours we’re lining-up a bid for the Wolfsburg ace.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed an excellent career in Europe having left Brazil nine years ago and played for Porto, Juventus and Atletico Madrid before joining Wolfsburg in 2010.

However, his best years were perhaps when he played alongside current Arsenal star Mesut Ozil at Werder Bremen, when he scored 54 goals in 132 games between 2006-2009.

It seems he’s keen on linking up with Ozil again as Diego has admitted that he would jump at the chance of joining Arsena.

When asked about interest from Arsenal, he told the newspapers:

‘It would be the ideal destination for me because their style suits my characteristics perfectly. Of course I would say “yes” to Arsenal.

‘Southampton have great organisation and discipline and big talents like Adam Lallana. But again there is nothing concrete.

‘Playing in England is a very attractive proposition at the peak of my career but I’m focusing on helping Wolfsburg to get in the Champions League.’

The attackers comments come amid rumous us and Southampton are considering making a move for him either in January or next summer.

While he’s a fine player, I actually think we’re well-stocked for playmakers right now so I don’t really see where he’d fit in. Don’t get me wrong, you can never really have too many good players but I think the money would be better spent elsewhere in the squad.
