Rosicky A Doubt For Spurs Clash After Picking Up Groin Injury
After bringing you the latest team and injury news earlier where we confirmed Aaron Ramsey had suffered a minor set-back in his recovery from a thigh injury, it seems we’ve been hit by yet another injury blow with Tomas Rosicky now also a doubt to face Spurs this Sunday.
According to reports today, the Czech international is struggling with a groin injury that he picked up during our 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
There was no mention of it in the official team news update on Arsenal.com today, but Goal are claiming that Rosicky is now set to undergo further assessment on Friday and will most likely need a late fitness test before his participation on Sunday is decided.
Hopefully he’ll be passed fit to play as it would be yet another huge blow if he was ruled out. We’re already heading to the Lane without important first team players like Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott, while Rosicky is now joining Kieran Gibbs, Nacho Monreal, Kim Kallstrom and Yaya Sanogo in facing late fitness tests.
It’s certainly going to be a busy couple of days at the Colney so fingers crossed a few players make it through their fitness tests, because this is a vitally important NLD where defeat would put Spurs to within just three points of us and we’ll suddenly be fighting to hang on to a top four place.
On the other hand, if we can come away with a win it will give our flagging title hopes a major boost and also all-but guarantee we finish in the top four this season.
