Wilshere Injury Update + Ramsey To Make FA Cup Semi Final?
Arsene Wenger gave the latest injury news ahead of Saturday’s game against Man City earlier on Thursday, and now the Telegraph have given another update on the situations surrounding Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.
Let’s start with Jack. He was ruled out for around eight weeks after fracturing a bone in his foot whilst playing for England at the start of March and the newspaper claims he had his protective boot removed last week and is now stepping up his recovery.
He is still some way from returning to any sort of training with the rest of the squad, but the 22-year-old is now understood to be back working with the physio’s three days a week where he’s been on the running machine and exercise bike’s.
While no fixed date has been set for his recovery, the hope is he can play in at least the final three games of our Premier League season and hopefully also an FA Cup final.
As for Ramsey, Arsene claimed earlier on Thursday that he was still ‘a few weeks away’ but the Telegraph seem to think the Welshman is still holding out hope that he could return for the FA Cup semi final against Wigan on April 12.
Rambo has suffered at least three set backs in his recovery from a thigh injury sustained back on Boxing Day and the club are understandably being cautious with him now.
He’s certain to miss the City and Everton games, but the newspaper suggests he is set to return to full training again towards the end of next week and the hope is he can get a full weeks training under his belt. If he comes through unscathed, the 23-year-old could then be in contention to face the Latics at Wembley.
We’ll just have to see how things go once he is back in training but I’d still be surprised if Arsene brought him back in to such an intense game like an FA Cup semi final after such a long time on the sidelines.
