France Claim Koscielny Has ‘Acute Tendonitis’ In BOTH Tendons
It looks like we have yet more bad news on the injury front with France claiming Laurent Koscielny has acute tendonitis in both his Achilles, according to the Guardian.
Kos has been carrying this Achilles problem for several months and the club have always tried to be cautious with him because of it.
The 29-year-old linked up with the French national team this week but the France Football Association have confirmed that he has been sent home to North London due to his Achilles problem.
Arsenal have suggested that the move is only precautionary and while they will carry out further tests when Koscielny arrives back in England, the early indications are the injury is not serious.
However, the Guardian claim that the French team doctor has diagnosed the centre-back with acute tendonitis in both of his Achilles tendons, which would indicate he could be set for a spell on the sidelines.
We now face an anxious wait to see what the Arsenal medical team find, but another injury is the last thing we need right now after Mesut Ozil was ruled out for up to 12 weeks yesterday with a partial tear to his left knee ligament.
Hopefully we could have Arteta, Gnabry and perhaps Walcott available after the international break but the likes of Ramsey, Giroud and Debuchy are also out so it would be a huge blow to add Koscielny to that list.
Fingers crossed we have some positive news on the Frenchman and we can get through this god forsaken international break without picking up any more injuries…
